About Us
We are a group of five high school students attending the Darrow school in New Lebanon, NY. We've made this worm bin as a school project to explore composting and how it works! In small groups, we have been working to create an environmentally stable and compact product that will be available for sale.
Eco-friendly!
One of the main goals we had for when building this bin was having it be benificial for the Earth. We succeeded! It uses much less chemical fertilizers and a 2 by 4 foot worm bin can prevent more than 1,400 pounds of organic waste going into landfills. A perk is that this is a great way to recycle food scraps and other compostable waste instead of the trash going to landfills, producing methane gases which harm the environment. Another perk is you can save money from this product alone, instead of having to go out and buy compost or soil you can have your very own created! Instead of not composting at all, you can compost in your home which is not only easy but very helpful to the earth as well.
